Chislehurst, Petts Wood & Bickley Crime

Back in November we published, in one table, the crime figures for each month, since the beginning of 2013, as provided by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, for Chislehurst, Petts Wood and Bickley. These figures were based on reported crime within a one mile radius of the centres of the three villages.

We have now republished and updated the figures below to show reported crime within the three geographical boundaries. This is far more representative of the areas in which we live. As a result, Chislehurst covers a larger area and Bickley and Petts Wood smaller areas, generally speaking. This has led to an increase in crime numbers for Chislehurst and a decrease for the other two areas.

Trends: For the last eleven months the total reported crimes have gone up and down from one month to the next, with a peak of 275 incidents for July against a low of 182 for October.

Blips: The main crime reported is anti-social behaviour. In July there were 45 incidents reported in Bickley, compared to just two for October. Of these 45 incidents, 10 were reported in and around Stoneleigh Road. What was going on there? Unfortunately, the Metropolitan Police doesn't provide details, case timelines and current statuses for anti-social behaviour.
